Helping Kids Build Their Future
According to “Investing In People: Developing all of America’s Talent on Campus and in the Workplace,” by 2028 there will be 19 million more jobs than workers adequately prepared to fill them. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, in information released in December 2001, predicts that during the 2000-2010 periods, “professional and related occupations and service occupations are projected to increase fastest and to add the most jobs.
Students must be prepared for these jobs, for the related workplace demands, and for their futures as employees and employers. Yet, while educators are will prepared for their roles as teachers, they cannot be expected to be experts in business, economics, and workforce development.
To help students learn the economic fundamentals so important to their future, Junior Achievement’s elementary,
middle school, and high school programs offer students a solid foundation for business success.
